The trouble with a river surrounded by bush and the occasional spot of farmland is that it is so easy to say nothing is there!

The bends in the river, rapids, trees, bush, not forgetting the smell of wild goats, are all of interest and provide an atmosphere of peace. The river varies in style between deep gorges and flatter sections.

Signs of early occupation are there if you know where to look for them and it pays to allow time to talk through your route with the hire firm (and mark spots on your map) before starting your expedition.
