Seven of us returned to our normal, everyday lives.

Ian, on the other hand, continued his planning for the "Adventure of a Lifetime".

After 18 months of planning, he and two friends deserted their wives and families for a 6 week trip to Australia.

Motor bikes, which had been painstakingly rebuilt, were crated up and shipped overseas and they were off. Ten days to cross the Simpson Desert was the start of their itinerary.

At time of writing they are still there - minus a bike. 90 km into the desert - on the first day - Ian hit a tree (how many trees ARE there in a desert anyway???) He was thrown clear and his bike exploded and burnt to a cinder.
